The purpose of the 6th gear in a vehicle is to provide a higher gear ratio, allowing the engine to operate at lower RPMs while maintaining a high speed. This can improve fuel efficiency and reduce engine wear, as the engine is not working as hard to maintain speed. The 6th gear is typically used for highway driving or cruising at a constant speed, where the extra gear ratio can help optimize fuel economy. **

Parking the car in first gear serves as an additional safety measure to prevent the car from rolling. When the car is parked on a slope, putting it in first gear can help prevent it from rolling downhill. This is especially important when the parking brake may not be sufficient to hold the car in place. Additionally, parking in first gear can also provide some extra security against theft, as it makes it more difficult for someone to push or tow the car away. **

The additional gear in the odometer of your speedometer is used to accurately measure the distance traveled by your vehicle. This gear is connected to the vehicle's transmission and rotates in proportion to the rotation of the vehicle's wheels. As the gear turns, it sends signals to the odometer to track the distance traveled. This allows the speedometer to accurately display the vehicle's speed and the odometer to keep track of the total distance traveled. **
